MightyMAXX

While responding to Hurricane Katrina, founder Tamala (Tami) witnessed how people had a need for connection to the outside world that wasn’t readily available. Without accessible networks, families could not communicate to relatives that they were safe or download insurance forms, maps to local shelters, and other recovery resources. Tami decided to create a product capable of deploying a wireless network with portable power and the ability to be installed in almost any terrain or environment. Enter MightyMAXX: a mobile rapid response telecommunications product.

MightyMAXX establishes a high-speed wireless network using cellular LTE or low earth orbit satellite as the backhaul. Using shore power or the onboard generator, MightyMAXX can be set up in rain, shine, or snow in less than one hour. Available options for expanding the base unit include Internet of Things devices, such as cameras or security products, and other types of power sources including solar.

As one solution in Flash Networks Group’s portfolio, MightyMAXX provides connectivity for disaster response, event management, and temporary network capacity offloading. Flash is expanding its current operations to include manufacturing MightyMAXX in Oklahoma. This opportunity will facilitate customizations to our mobile access solution, as well as contribute to economic growth in Norman. Flash’s MightyMAXX manufacturing operations are scheduled to be completely relocated to Norman by the end of 2025.

Universal Mount

When the City of Seattle selected Tamala (Tami) to create a wireless umbrella to support its law enforcement, the network structure relied on installing wireless access points on light poles throughout the city. When bolted to a light pole, the access points suffered a 30% reduction in signal quality. No Commercial Off-The-Shelf access point (AP) mount could support the installation as designed. Tami created an innovative universal mount that is able negate the 30% signal loss.

This universal mount extends the distance of the AP to 18 inches away from the physical pole, allowing the signal to bend and preventing the pole from interfering with the signal. Our universal mount can also mount Wi-Fi antennas, allowing the installed equipment to capitalize on the full capabilities of the access point.

Stadium Under-Seat Enclosure

After experiencing a catastrophic loss during a stadium installation, Flash Network Group’s engineers were determined to create an enclosure capable of withstanding environmental elements and janitorial measures. Our engineers developed a NEMA 4 rated, UL50E Certified Wedge Under-Seat / Under-Bench Enclosure to protect wireless access points while providing maximum functionality. The enclosure is also OSHA approved for installation in highly congested areas, where products must not impede the flow of traffic. The under-seat enclosure is ideal for indoor or outdoor environments. (This product is currently designed for Wi-Fi6 and older technologies. Newer outdoor access points cannot be used in these enclosures.)
